In October 2020, a group of experts came together for a remote panel discussion to consider current knowledge on Vitamin D and bone health within Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups. Agreeing upon the importance of Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency in these groups, their objectives were to provide an up-to-date synthesis of current evidence and knowledge. As a result, these experts, in partnership with Thornton and Ross, developed a consensus document which includes recommended actions to be taken to tackle low vitamin D status and related bone health consequences in those from BAME backgrounds.
